Switzerland is the Alps at their most accessible: cogwheel trains and cable cars reach glaciers and summits. Interlaken, Lucerne and Zermatt are the usual bases.

For Indian travellers. Many Bollywood films were shot in the Swiss Alps, and Mount Titlis has a life-size cut-out of Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol.
